War crimes trial is a blow to Jamaat: Bangladesh academician

Bangladesh academician, Mohammed Abdul Mannan has said that the war crime trials are a blow to the ideology of the country's biggest Islamist party, Jamaat-e-Islami. Jamaat, an Islamist ally of the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) that opposed independence from Pakistan, denies accusations that some of its leaders committed murder, rape and torture during the conflict.
