Iran Israel War News Live Updates: US President Donald Trump said his early departure from the Group of Seven (G7) leaders meeting in Canada has “nothing to do” with working on a ceasefire between Israel and Iran, instead saying his reason is “much bigger than that.”

Some 2,000 people had to rush to safety shelters in Iranian missile attacks that caused widespread damage across central Israel and Haifa early Monday, the Times of Israel reported.

Earlier, the US president said Iran should have signed a deal with the United States and urged residents to evacuate the Iranian capital.

"Simply stated, IRAN CAN NOT HAVE A NUCLEAR WEAPON. I said it over and over again! Everyone should immediately evacuate Tehran!" Trump said on Monday.

The Israeli military on Tuesday said it targeted multiple missile and UAV sites in western Iran, including surface-to-surface missile infrastructure, surface-to-air launchers and drone storage facilities.

The IDF issued a statement accompanied by black-and-white footage showing missile launchers exploding.

At least 45 Palestinians have been killed in fresh missile strikes launched by Israel, said the Gaza health ministry.

The Israel Defence Forces on Tuesday said that the Air Force shot down some 30 drones launched at them, all apparently from Iran.

Many of the drones were intercepted beyond Israel’s borders. Several were shot down over the Golan Heights, according to the military.

IDF on Tuesday eliminated Iran’s wartime Chief of Staff Ali Shadmani. He served as the Commander of the Emergency Command of the Iranian Armed Forces.

He commanded both the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) and the Iranian army.

At the start of the operation, he was appointed to command the Iranian Armed Forces after his predecessor, Alaa Ali Rashid, was eliminated in the opening strike of Operation "Rising Lion."

Following precise intelligence received by the IDF Intelligence Directorate and a sudden opportunity overnight (Tuesday), the IAF struck a staffed command centre in the heart of Tehran and eliminated Ali Shadmani, the wartime Chief of Staff, the most senior military commander, and the closest figure to Iranian Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei, IDF said in a statement.

Loud explosions and booms were heard over Israel's Tel Aviv and Jerusalem on Tuesday, AFP reported. The blasts came after air raid sirens sounded in several parts of Israel and the military warned of incoming Iranian missiles.

In a statement on the ongoing situation in Tehran, the Ministry of External Affairs on Tuesday informed that Indian students in Tehran have been moved out of the city for safety while others who are "self-sufficient" in terms of transport have been advised to move out too.

Iran has so far launched more than 370 missiles and hundreds of drones at Israel. So far, 24 people have been killed in Israel and more than 500 wounded, Israel said.

Indian students in Tehran have been moved out of the city for reasons of safety, through arrangements made by the Embassy. Other residents who are self-sufficient in terms of transport have also been advised to move out of the city in view of the developing situation.

Separately, some Indians have been facilitated to leave Iran through the border with Armenia.

The Embassy remains continuously in touch with the community with a view to extending all feasible assistance.

Further advisories may be issued given the fluid situation.

Two large explosions were heard in Iran's Tabriz city as Israel's military on Tuesday conducted "several extensive strikes" on military targets in western Iran.

The Israeli military on Tuesday said that its air defence systems have been activated and are operational to intercept the threat of Iranian missiles, reported Reuters.

In another fiery statement, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu did not rule out the possibility of assassinating Iran’s Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei and declared that such an action could bring a definitive end to the long-standing conflict between Israel and Iran. READ MORE

Israel's military said it conducted "several extensive strikes" overnight on Tuesday on military targets in western Iran.

"During the strikes, dozens of surface-to-surface missile storage and launch infrastructure were struck. In addition, surface-to-air missile launchers and UAV storage sites were struck in western Iran," the military said in a statement.

Israel's strikes on the headquarters of Iran's state television in Tehran killed three people, the broadcaster said on Tuesday, a day after the attack.

Israeli Air Force bombed the office of Iran’s state broadcaster IRIB in Tehran on Monday evening.

The Indian Embassy in Tel Aviv established an emergency helpline and advised Indian nationals to stay vigilant.

The United States has so far maintained that it is not involved in the Israeli attacks on Iran, although Trump said on Friday the US was aware of Israel's strikes in advance and called them "excellent."

Washington has also warned Tehran not to attack the US interests or personnel in the region.

Ahead of the critical G7 Summit meeting in Canada, leaders of the forum have issued a statement on the ongoing conflict in West Asia, reiterating their commitment to peace while endorsing Israel's right to defend itself.

"We, the leaders of the G7, reiterate our commitment to peace and stability in the Middle East. In this context, we affirm that Israel has a right to defend itself. We reiterate our support for the security of Israel. We also affirm the importance of the protection of civilians," the statement read.

While expressing support for Israel amid the ongoing conflict, the Group of Seven nations labelled its rival Iran as a source of instability in the Middle East, in a statement issued late on Monday that called for peace and stability in the region.

In its advisory, India asked its nationals to avoid unnecessary movements in Iran and issued several contact numbers for communication.
