According to the report, Trump initiated the call to discuss recent international developments. The conversation focused on the Iran conflict and trilateral talks involving Washington, Moscow and Kyiv aimed at resolving the war in Ukraine.

Kremlin aide Yury Ushakov told journalists, “Tonight, a phone call of the Russian and US presidents has taken place. The conversation was businesslike, open and constructive, which is usually the case in dialogue between the Russian and US leaders.”

Ushakov said the leaders spoke for about an hour.

Trump reaffirmed the US commitment to achieving a long-term settlement between Russia and Ukraine, while Putin thanked him for the administration’s continued mediation efforts.
