The Michigan-based news outlet claimed that one of the people arrested was linked to a possible assassination attempt on Donald Trump, sharing messages on social media platform Reddit under the tag ‘ShootUpTrumpRally’.

The second person had been previously flagged by security forces for posting social media messages against Democratic-aligned groups.
