As of 3 p.m. EDT on Tuesday, DownDetector had received over 2,500 outage reports for Pinterest and nearly 30,000 for Reddit. Most users reported that the apps were not loading, likely due to server-related issues.
Reddit Outage
Reddit users encountered a recurring error when trying to open threads, with the site displaying the message: “Server error. We have encountered an error. Please try again later.”
Social media quickly filled with frustrated reactions.
One person reported on X, “Reddit servers were fine when I wanted to waste time but when I need help with something serious it decides to go down.”
Another wrote, “The great Reddit blackout! A moment of silence for those who lost their daily dose of digital drama. Imagine being forced to think for yourself—what a wild concept! Time to dust off those old books, folks.”
A third person reported, “Oh no, Reddit outage! Hope it gets sorted soon!”

Pinterest was similarly affected, with thousands unable to access the app or load boards.
