A search is underway for a missing 12-year-old girl in South Carolina. Vanessa Marryman was publicly reported missing Saturday, August 22, the Lexington County Sheriff’s Department said.

Vanessa was last seen on Friday, August 21, at about 3 pm. She was at a home in the 1300 block of W E Jeffcoat Road in Gaston when she was last seen, according to the sheriff’s department. This is located in a part of Lexington County between U.S. 178 and U.S. 321.

What we know about Vanessa Marryman

Vanessa is described as a 5-foot-6, 115-pound girl. She was last seen wearing a black tank top, blue jeans and brown cowboy boots.

It has not been revealed whether Vanessa was alone when she was last seen, or if she is considered a runaway. The sheriff’s department also did not specify if foul play is suspected in her disappearance, or whether she is considered to be in danger.

“We are looking for 12-year-old Vanessa Marryman. She was last seen at a home in the 1300 block of W E Jeffcoat Rd in Gaston yesterday around 3 p.m,” the Lexington County Sheriff’s Department wrote on Facebook, sharing her photos. “She is 5'6" and about 115 lbs. Vanessa was wearing a black tank top, blue jeans and brown cowboy boots.”

Vanessa’s loved ones have been raising awareness about her disappearance on Facebook. April Holm wrote, “Please help us bring her home. Venessa Marryman went missing today. She was last seen on W.E. Jeffcoat headed towards hwy 6. She’s wearing a black tank top and blue jeans with cowboy boots on. If anyone has any information please contact Lexington county sheriff department.”

Jennifer Ward wrote, sharing a photo, “This is a most recent picture of Vanessa from Sunday at church if anyone has seen her or knows anything please call Lexington county sheriff’s department. She went missing from WE Jeffcoat road in Gaston headed towards hwy 6 area last seen wearing a black tank top, blue jeans and cowboy boots.”

Anyone who has any information on Vanessa’s whereabouts has been urged to call 911.
