Game warden Jim Fahey came upon the unidentified boy just after 4 pm on Monday as he was sleeping in a tire rut on a grassy road in Bradford about a half-mile from his home. He appeared to be in good health.
Police say the boy’s parents had been sleeping after working overnight shifts on Sunday when the toddler wandered away from the home. The boy’s father discovered he was missing after he woke up around 1 pm.
Game wardens, Maine State Police troopers with dogs and a Maine Forest Service helicopter assisted in the search for the boy.
The case remains under investigation.
