Taliban militants launched some rockets toward a gathering in Andar district of Ghazni on Sunday, where Karzai was speaking.

Immediately after the attack, the joint forces launched a search operation for the suspects, and so far 11 militants had been arrested, Ahmadzai said.

Several rockets landed hundreds of meters from the gathering on Sunday, but did not cause any casualties. Karzai asked the audience to keep calm, and finished his speech.

A man claiming to be a Taliban spokesman said Taliban fighters fired 12 rockets toward the gathering.

However, an official statement said the Taliban fired three rockets, which landed outside the gathering.
