Floods and landslides triggered by torrential rains in a northwest Chinese province left at least 58 people dead, authorities said on Saturday.

Over 285,800 people in Shaanxi province have been relocated because of the disasters this rainy season, and three million people have been affected, Xinhua reported. Over 173,000 hectares of farmland were destroyed and 2,130 roads were cut-off. Economic losses have reached 4.5 billion yuan ($720,000), the flood control office said.
