Police found Brad Fittler, coach of the Sydney Roosters, heavily intoxicated and wearing only shorts early yesterday
after the woman made a complaint.

"I am disappointed with myself and apologise unreservedly to the occupants of the room who I disturbed," Fittler said at a press conference today.

"My behaviour was unacceptable and I have fined myself $10,000."

The rugby club said the money will be donated to a Salvation Army women's refuge charity.

"Police have confirmed the incident regarding Brad, and based on the information we have received at this time we are
happy with the course of action taken," said Roosters chief executive Steve Noyce, who also spoke to Fittler and hotel
management about the incident.

Fittler's Roosters are in last place in the National Rugby League.
