Botswana delegation evaluates use of EVMs

A delegation from Botswana had visited various polling stations during the by-polls held here to evaluate the use of Electronic Voting Machines, officials said here today.

A delegation from Botswana had visited various polling stations during the by-polls held here to evaluate the use of Electronic Voting Machines, officials said here today.

The delegation visited a number of polling stations yesterday to assess if the device could be introduced in Botswana, they said.

Botswanan MPs Mephato R Reatile and Tshelang W Masisi, their Chief Election Officer Dintle S Rapoo, his Deputy CEO Martha J Syed, Professor Balefi Tsie from the Botswana University and officer from the Botswana National Assembly Mabunga D Gadibolae were part of the delegation. After this visit, the delegation members will submit a report in their national assembly to recommend the use of EVMs in the southern African country, officials said.
