At least 17 people were killed and over 30 injured when a speeding bus lost control and plunged off the road in central Bangladesh on Saturday.

Sixteen of the passengers died instantly after the bus turned turtle on a railway crossing near Jamuna Bridge at Kalihati sub-district, police officer Fazlul Kabir told PTI over phone, adding one of the injured died later.
He said more than 30 others were also injured, many of them critically.
The bus was coming to capital Dhaka from frontier Burimari sub-district in northwestern Lalmonirhat.
The accident took place three days after a train rammed into a bus carrying 50 passengers at a railway crossing, killing 18 people in the same sub-district.
