Bush was speaking at a press conference in South Korea, two days before he attends the Olympics opening ceremony in Beijing.

"I have been meeting Chinese leaders for seven-and-a-half years and my message has been the same: you should not fear religious people in your society," Bush told a press conference.

"As a matter of fact, religious people make society a better place."
