Tweeters can choose which of their deceased idols they want to talk to, pick a question — then follow the "Tweance" in real time using the social networking site.

Psychic Jayne Wallace, who famously contacted dead British reality star Jade Goody in August, will choose four celebrities based on votes from Twitter users, then post their answers to her questions on the official “Tweance” Twitter stream for users to follow in real time.

Previoulsy in 2003, psychics Craig and Jane Hamilton-Parker conducted a séance to contact Princess Diana, which was closely followed by 30 million people around the world on television.

The idea of a séance originated in New York in the 19th Century when two sisters convinced their parents and neighbours they could communicate with the spirit of a body buried under their house through a series of knocking codes.
