Recently, Indian authorities had asked security agencies to look into the allegations of the multiple passports of Balakrishna.

India should not display any form of insensitivity while dealing with Balakrishna, said Abhisekh Shah, the MP and a leader of Madhesi Peoples Rights Forum Nepal (MPRF Nepal).

Acharya Balakrishna was born in Haridwar though his parents hailed from Nepal, the MP claimed. However, sources in India said Balakrishna's nationality was not clear.

I would sincerely like to appeal to the Indian authorities to take care of the whole episode cautiously and to give a deep thought in dealing with Balkrishna. Violating passport laws in India carry stringent punishment including imprisonment up to five years.
