Spanish golfer Seve Ballesteros has died after losing his battle to recover from a series of operations on a brain tumour diagnosed in late 2008, his family said on Saturday. The tumours was discovered after Ballesteros collapsed at Madrid airport and was rushed to a nearby hospital.

The five-times major winner, 54, had been recuperating at his home in northern Spain after four operations on the tumour and a course of chemotherapy.
