Indian diamond fetches Rs 213 cr

A 34-carat rare pink diamond from the mines of Golconda in south India, once owned by the the last Nizam of Hyderabad, has sold for $39 million at an auction in New York.

The diamond was purchased by an anonymous collector bidding by phone.

It set a new record at Christie’s New York on Tuesday, selling for $39 million, or roughly Rs 213 crore.
