An aircraft belonging to the NATO-led International Security Assistance Force (ISAF) crashed on Thursday in eastern Afghan province of Paktika, an ISAF statement in Kabul said.
"The aircraft, a shadow reconnaissance vehicle, was unarmed and the wreckage has been located," the statement said.
"It landed on open ground without making contact with people or property," it said adding that "the cause of the crash is under investigation."
The eastern frontier provinces adjoining Pakistan have witnessed a surge of Taliban subversions and suicide bombings on international and Afghan troops.
