Talking to a private television channel, Mukhtar said Pakistan would soon start rolling out drones, which have proved quite useful against extremists in the lawless tribal regions.

Responding to a question, he said Islamabad wants better ties with New Delhi.

While the United States has been claiming that the CIA operated drone attacks have proved highly effective against militants hiding in the ungoverned tribal region along the Afghan border killing scores of top Al-Qaeda and Taliban leaders, Pakistan maintains that the missile hits are adversely affecting the 'war on terror' as they have caused more civilian casualties than striking terrorists.

Islamabad says the attacks have only fanned the prevailing massive anti-US sentiments in the country.
