The jets targeted militants in Arganjo, Daggo and Shadalla areas of Aurakzai Agency.

Three hideouts were also destroyed in the bombardment, official sources said.

Pakistani security forces launched air strikes in Aurakzai Agency after a large contingent of troops moved into the area earlier this week.

At least three militants were killed and two hideouts destroyed in air strikes yesterday.

Troops launched an operation in the region following reports that the remnants of the Taliban from Waziristan and Swat had shifted to Aurakzai Agency.

Security forces have also used artillery units based in Kurram Agency and Feroze Khel areas to target militants in Aurakzai Agency.
