Ranjan Mathai, who served as the deputy high commissioner in London from 2005 to 2007, has taken over as the next high commissioner, succeeding Jaimini Bhagwati, who retired earlier in 2013.
Ranjan Mathai, who served as the deputy high commissioner in London from 2005 to 2007, has taken over as the next high commissioner, succeeding Jaimini Bhagwati, who retired earlier in 2013.
Mathai, 61, was India’s foreign secretary until July this year. He has previously served in Indian missions in Vienna, Colombo, Washington, Paris, Tehran and Brussels.
Mathai, who arrived in London on Sunday, will present his credentials to Queen Elizabeth shortly.
