Sarajevo police have arrested eight of the nine armed prisoners who broke out of a jail in eastern Bosnia on Tuesday night and drove to the capital.
No one was injured in the operation, which took place overnight, said police spokesman Dragan Miokovic. The police seized a loaded automatic rifle and were searching for more weapons, he added.
"We arrested five of them by 11.30 pm (2230 GMT) last night and three more in the early morning," Miokovic told Reuters. "At the moment, we are still searching for one more."
The group attacked two guards in Ustikolina prison, injuring one of them, and fled in two stolen prison vehicles, taking the guards' weapons.
