Till late evening on Tuesday, the Chinese government did not confirm or deny either of the incidents.

Nearly 45 Tibetans have self-immolated since the beginning of 2011. Rights group Free Tibet said the incident occurred around 2.30pm on Tuesday and they received two photographs of Dolkar Kyi after she set herself on fire.

“One shows her lying on the ground with her clothes completely burned off. The other is of her dead body lying in Tso Monastery where it was being watched over by the monks,” the London-based group said in a statement.
