48-year-old Rehman, who had resigned as Information Minister on March 13 in the wake of differences with PPP chief and President Asif Ali Zardari and other leaders on the government's handling of the media, was replaced as the party's Information Secretary by Fauzia Wahab.
Rehman, a journalist-turned-politician, told reporters on Wednesday that she had not resigned from her party post. Asked about her resignation as a minister, she said she had no regrets as she had done the "principled thing." She said Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani still had not accepted her resignation but she had no intention of returning to her ministerial post.
