Police reinforcements were rushed to Gardena High School, south of central Los Angeles, where the campus was locked down after the mid-morning shooting, the LA Times and local TV station KTLA reported.

KTLA said the suspect, thought to be a student, had been located inside a classroom and was being "cooperative," as live television images showed armed officers rushing into the campus.
