Two people were killed and 35 injured in a car bomb explosion near a police patrol in Iraq's northern city of Mosul, police said.

Two people were killed and 35 injured in a car bomb explosion near a police patrol in Iraq's northern city of Mosul, police said.
A body-trapped car parked near a marketplace in the Wadi Hajar neighborhood in southern Mosul exploded on Sunday evening near a passing police patrol.
The blast also destroyed a nearby old building and damaged several others.
Mosul, some 400 km north of Baghdad, has been a stronghold of insurgent groups and Al Qaeda fighters in the war-torn country.
Earlier on Sunday, at least 50 people were killed and 200 injured in three powerful explosions in Baghdad.
