An unoccupied private home in the central Portuguese village was set ablaze and another building damaged in Friday's crash.

The accident occurred after the pilot aborted a landing at a nearby airstrip in Evora. The twin-engine propeller-driven plane swung around to attempt a second run at the strip from the opposite direction but struck a building.
