A Delta Airlines plane flying from New York to Tel Aviv, Israel, was diverted to Boston due to an unruly passenger who tried to make his way into the cockpit, local television reported.

Flight 86 made an emergency landing at Logan Airport late yesterday shortly after takeoff from John F Kennedy Airport in New York after an Israeli passenger started banging on the cockpit door, WHDH television said.

The passenger was identified as Itay Atmor, 22.
After his attempt, Atmor was grabbed by other passengers and thrown to the floor and subdued with the help of crew members, the TV station reported.
