World Media Summit begins in Beijing

About 300 representatives from over 170 media outlets around the world gathered in Beijing to discuss the shifts and challenges in the industry at the World Media Summit that began on Friday.

About 300 representatives from over 170 media outlets around the world gathered in Beijing to discuss the shifts and challenges in the industry at the World Media Summit that began on Friday.

The opening ceremony of the summit was held at the Great Hall of the People in central Beijing.

The World Media Summit, launched by Xinhua and eight other world media organisations, attracted leading wire services, radio and television broadcasters, newspapers and magazines as well as online media from around the world.
