An all-round show by debutant Jagrit Anand helped Delhi win their fifth consecutive game in the North Zone leg of the Vijay Hazare Trophy. The hosts humbled Services by 62 runs.

Batting first, Mohit Sharma (23) and Shikhar Dhawan (54) had taken the hosts to 45 for no loss when Sharma was run out following a mix-up. Anand then batted with maturity with Dhawan to take the total past 100.

Even after Dhawan and senior pro Mithun Manhas departed, the youngster continued to rotate the strike well with wicketkeeper Punit Bisht (50) to take the total past 250 and complete his half-century. Spinner Yashpal Singh eventually removed Anand as he tried to step up the scoring rate.

Services never looked in control of the chase after Ishant Sharma bowled Jasvir Singh in the first over.

Half the batsmen were gone by the 30th over, and although skipper Yashpal Singh finished with 95 and was last man out to Anand, it never looked like he would take his team home.

Brief Scores: Delhi 275/7 in 50 overs (Anand 58; Yashpal 2/54) beat SSCB 213 all out in 47 overs (Yashpal 95; Suyal 3/45, Anand 2/26)
