Deepika Padukone’s Hollywood debut xXx: Return of Xander Cage has become the world’s highest-grossing film of 2017 with collections exceeding $310 million. Converted to rupees, that figure amounts to Rs 2075 crore.

According to latest figures by Box Office Mojo, the action sequel continued to do record breaking business in China, where its total stands at $137 million after just two weeks in release. It’s North America figures however, are underwhelming. Since its release in mid-January, the film has made just $44 million, which amounts to only 14% of the worldwide total of the $85 million budgeted film.

The film’s India total as of early February stands at Rs 54 crore, 91% of it which came in its opening weekend.

The $310 million total however, is enough to make it the highest grosser of 2017 worldwide. Fifty Shades Darker, the second installment in the lucrative, but critically panned Fifty Shades of Grey trilogy, currently stands at number 2, with $284 million, followed by Jackie Chan’s Kung Fu Yoga ($246 million), which has made almost 99% of its money in China.
