Shah Rukh Khan had recently tweeted that he always wanted to portray James Bond.
Mention it to Craig and this is what he tells Mid Day: "Well, the job is taken. Good luck to Shah Rukh Khan!"
"I am a big James Bond fan. Always wanted to play a character like him... but am told... I am not smooth with guns or women... bah," SRK had tweeted.
He also mentioned his favourite dialogue from Thunderball a 1965 Bond movie. "My favourite Bond lines 'JB: That gun, it looks more for a woman. You know much about guns, Mr. Bond? JB: No, but I know a little about women."
SRK who's set to play a romantic role in YRF's Jab Tak Hai Jaan opposite Katrina Kaif was last seen in action film Don 2.
The actor plays an army man in JTHJ, which is scheduled for a November 13 release.
Meanwhile Robert Pattinson too wants to play Bond...
Robert Pattinson wants to take on the role of James Bond, but not before he has added 20 more years of experience in his acting career.
The 26-year-old star is keen to play the iconic spy and thinks he'll be able to do justice to the role in two more decades.
"Yeah, I'd definitely like to go for Bond, but in more like 20 years. There'd be nothing worse than, like, Let's get a fresh-faced Bond! That would be the worst idea in the world. It would be ridiculous to reinvent it as some young posh kid," Contactmusic quoted him as telling the Sun newspaper.
"After Daniel Craig you have to have some baggage. I'd have to be tortured in the first few scenes. I'd have to do the first film with one arm or something," he added.
Daniel Craig is the best actor to play Bond: Roger Moore
Actor Roger Moore, who played James Bond from 1973 to 1985, feels Daniel Craig has been the best actor to play 007.
In his new book Bond on Bond, Moore writes: "I loved Casino Royale and Daniel Craig. He is a wonderful actor, certainly the best actor to play Bond. (He has) the best build of any Bond."
Moore said he was looking forward to the release of Skyfall, reports express.co.uk.
"I believe that Skyfall is going to have a lot more humour in it than Quantum of Solace did, something I'll be pleased to see," he added.
