BSF recovers 2kg heroin in Ferozepur

Fazilka police claimed to have busted a gang of swindlers and nabbed five of its members along with sharp edged weapons and a firearm.

“Following a tip off, police raided and held five persons who were planning a dacoity,” said SSP Fazilka Narinder Bhargav.

The accused have been identified as Gurbhej Singh, Mann Singh, Jasbir Singh, Bhinder Singh and Harpal Singh while during search a country made pistol besides other sharp edged weapons were recovered.

During preliminary investigation, they confessed regarding their involvement into incidents of loot and snatching in Fazilka, Muktsar and Ferozepur, claimed SSP.

The accused have been booked under Section 399 (planning to dacoity) and 402 (assembling for purpose of committing dacoity) of Indian Penal Code (IPC) while previously they were booked under Section 382 (theft after preparation made for causing death) 34 (acts done by several persons in furtherance of common intention) of the IPC.
