Last Tuesday, the Lalit Kala Akademi inaugurated a unique exhibition of art works titled the Border Security Force Kala Mela.

Last Tuesday, the Lalit Kala Akademi inaugurated a unique exhibition of art works titled the Border Security Force Kala Mela. Gripping portraits, sculptures reminiscent of ancient art and paintings that explore the human psyche are displayed in the exhibition. But the fact that makes them special is that they been have painted by 58 central para military force men, women and family members.

The exhibition features 112 paintings and over 200 sculptures. Prices of the artworks range between Rs 100 to Rs 30,000. Talking about the show, Rajneesh Kumar of Lalit Kala Akademi says, “The exhibition has been successful with the general crowd also.”

Home minister P Chidambaram, who inaugurated the exhibition, said, “Delhiites have a good taste in art so I am hopeful that they will visit this exhibition in large numbers. It’s is a wealthy city too and I am sure many will love to buy these beautiful products.”
