Treat for film buffs... Head to Cinemax at Infiniti Mall over the next two Sundays for a special festival aimed to promote young talent.

If you are a film-buff and especially fond of short films, head to Cinemax at Infiniti Mall over the next two Sundays for a special festival.

Put together by Vikram Ram of RBC Integrated Events, the festival aims to promote talent by young filmmakers. “We have called it the Show Reel Festival and you can expect to see a number of short films over two days — October 10 and 17 — from 12 pm to 2 pm,” says Ram. Entries have been called in via popular networking sites and word-of-mouth. “From all the films shown, three films will be chosen by a panel of celebrity judges and their makers will be given an award,” adds Ram.

Says actor and model Aryan Vaid, one of the judges, “I look forward to new talent being given a platform. I’m hoping to see some kids exploring their creative sides.” Mimoh Chakraborty, also on the judges’ panel, says, “Film festivals are fun because of the myriad ideas one gets to see on the screen. This festival will be exciting because young talent will be introduced to the film fraternity and these will be the star directors of tomorrow.”

The event is open to the public and tickets will cost Rs150 per day.
