If you have steered clear of the popular morning shows of ‘adult’ films till now, then there’s not much that you have missed. With an exhibition of adult movie posters being held in the Capital, you can get a quick look of what these films were all about.

Curated by V Sunil, Executive Creative Director, Wieden+Kennedy, the exhibition is a collection of over a decade old adult movie posters.

“I had this collection with me for a long time. We thought it will be a good idea to show these before they become irrelevant to the younger generation who have not grown up seeing such posters or don’t know about this ‘morning show’ culture,” he says.

Posters of films such as Miss Laila, Her Knights, Sarfira Ashiq and Doosra Pati among others are on display and for sale at the gallery.

“The exhibition is for everyone who is an adult and understands sex, not as a subject that is particularly taboo in India,” says Sunil.

The posters, which are quite explicit, have still not come under fire from any activist groups. “Luckily, there has been no criticism as of now. Most people are looking at it as an art form rather than some obscene pictures. These posters are more fun than being obscene,” Sunil adds.

While the titles of all the movie are quite creative, the poster of the film titled Jawani Diwani is the curator’s favourite.

“This is my personal favourite. It has the most shocking caption on it - Can a girl be punished for raping a boy?” informs Sunil.
