Taking a cue from the famous White Night Party held in Paris last year, where museums, galleries, cafes, cinemas, stores, parks and monuments threw open their doors for the entire night, Hauz Khas Village in the capital is also holding its first ever Open Village Night on June 19. Expect this night also to be very stylish, just like its Parisian cousin, with film screenings, a classic guitar performance, an open mic night, special shopping offers, street recitals, magic tricks and puppet shows on offer.

“It’s an excellent idea to promote the village and the concept of a design oriented environment in the city where younger brands and creative people get a chance to showcase their talents,” says Narresh Kukreja of design label Shivan Narresh, which is a part of the event. “It’s a nice way for us to showcase how great of a shopping and lifestyle destination the village now is,” says Shaan Thadhani, owner of white, a designer also participating in the night.

Shoppers too are excited about this innovative concept. “This event shows you don’t need to hang out only in malls to have a good night out,” says Sushant Gupta, 24.
