A highlight of the event will the Manganiyars, from the obscure villages of Jaisalmer, Jodhpur and Barmer in western Rajasthan, a community of Muslim court musician. “The Manganiyars perform at marriages, deaths and births. Their music is complex and secular. They are highly accomplished performers. The main aim is to use theatre to create magic in music,” says Avirook Sen, director, Amarrass records. With the romantic backdrop of Purana Qila, the event will have 43 musicians seated in 36 lighted, red-curtained cubicles arranged horizontally on top of each other
