Singh meet Yadav at a private hospital in Jabalpur where the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh pracharak is undergoing treatment for multiple injuries.

“Yadav has injuries all over his body. There are multiple injuries on his head. I have sought a report from officials about the entire episode,” the minister told reporters outside the hospital. “After the report is out, action will be taken against the additional superintendent of police, the town inspector and other cops.”

“Whatever action the government finds suitable and necessary will be taken against the erring cops,” he said in response to media queries on punishment to the erring policemen.

An attempt to murder case was registered against additional superintendent of police Rajesh Sharma, Baihar police station town inspector Zia-ul-Haq, sub inspector Anil Ajmaria and other cops.

“Another case for rioting is registered against the cops for vandalising a shop in their tirade against Yadav,” the minister said.

Farmers welfare and agriculture development minister Gauri Shankar Bisen, who accompanied Singh, told the media that the police officers were aware that Yadav was a RSS pracharak.

“The government has taken a serious note of the incident and strict action will be taken against the additional superintendent of police, the town inspector and other cops who beat up Yadav,” he said.

Certain objectionable posts against Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen leader Asaduddin Owaisi sent purportedly through Yadav’s mobile phone led to a complaint against the RSS pracharak. Later, a heated argument between Yadav and policemen reportedly escalated to the assault on Yadav.
