Former MP assembly speaker Sriniwas Tiwari has been summoned by the police for recording his statement in connection with the alleged irregularities in the appointments to the secretariat, police said.

Tiwari, a veteran Congress leader, was booked in the case nearly two months ago.
Six other persons who were booked in the case have also been summoned.
Apart from Tiwari, Congress leader and former chief minister Digvijaya Singh and 17 others were booked in the case that was registered on February 28 at the Jehangirabad police station.
The scam relates to the alleged irregularities in the appointments to the secretariat between 1993 and 2003 when the Congress was in power.
City superintendent of police (CSP) Salim Khan said Tiwari and six others had been asked to appear before the police on Monday.
