MP Cong MLA's son held for molesting woman
A Madhya Pradesh Congress MLA’s son has been arrested along with two friends on charges of molesting and beating a woman who protested when they passed lewd comments on her.
The main accused, Trilok Choudhary, is the son of Suresh Choudhary, the legislator from Sabalgarh constituency in Morena district, 465 km north of capital Bhopal.
Trilok, 45, and his friends Rajesh Gupta and Abhishek Parite allegedly accosted the 29-year-old woman in Bhopal when she was returning home from work on Sunday, the police said.
When she protested, Trilok reportedly came out of the car and molested her and even beat her up, the police added.
In her complaint to the police, the woman said Trilok even tried to drag her inside the car.
When she shouted for help, passersby and locals caught Trilok, but his friends managed to escape.
The locals alerted TT Nagar police station.
Trilok’s friends were arrested on Monday. A court has remanded the three accused in judicial custody.
Trilok’s father is convinced his son has been framed.
“This is a political conspiracy of the ruling party (Bharatiya Janata Party) to malign the image of my family,” the Sabalgarh MLA said on Tuesday.
He said the woman who had lodged the complaint and a few other women often assembled near his Bhopal bungalow and indulged in objectionable activities.
“They stand near the bungalow and are picked up by people in vehicles.”
The Congress leader said he had been objecting to their activities for a long time.
“Two years back, we complained to the TT Nagar police as well. But since police get money from them, they implicated my son under false charges. I am looking into all the aspects and will give a befitting reply to them in a week or so.”
