A 25-year-old woman was allegedly gangraped in a moving car after she and her husband were held hostage on gunpoint on pretext of offering them a lift, police said on Thursday.

The couple, which hails from Mumbai, was in the city to attend a "parvachan" at Asaram Bapu's Ashram in Gandhinagar
area, Sub Divisional Officer of Police, Shashikant Shukla, said.

Last night, four persons offered the couple a lift in a black coloured Innova from outside the ashram and later raped
the lady in the moving car after taking them hostage on gunpoint, Shukla said.

The accused then dumped the couple at Mubarakpur area, he said. No arrest has been made so far in the case as the number of the vehicle could not be known, he added.
