It’s an open secret that Anurag Kashyap’s Bombay Velvet is set to take off with Ranbir Kapoor and Anushka Sharma. However, for a long time, Aamir Khan’s name was doing the rounds for the film’s lead. But last year, Anurag declared that the film would be made without the superstar.

In an interview, the filmmaker stated that he is going ahead without Aamir. “He (Aamir) is a very busy man and I have waited long enough. I don’t even know if he wants to do the film,” Anurag had said.

Soon enough, the buzz was that Anurag was upset with Aamir. However, not many know that the Gangs of Wasseypur director has teamed up with the superstar for another project. For Aamir’s upcoming co-production (with Excel Entertainment) Talaash, Anurag donned the hat of a dialogue writer.

"Anurag has always been close to Zoya (Akhtar) and Farhan (Akhtar). Plus, there’s no trouble between Aamir and him. So, when the Talaash makers needed someone to write additional dialogues for the film — and since Farhan is busy with multiple projects — they turned to Anurag. And he readily agreed,” says an insider close to the film.

Anurag, on being contacted, confirmed his association with Reema Kagti’s directorial project. “Actually, Farhan has written most of the dialogues. But later, they asked me to work on some extra parts when he got busy with Don 2 (2011) and other stuff,” says the filmmaker, who has previously written dialogues for Reema’s debut, Honeymoon Travels Pvt Ltd (2007) besides doing a cameo in Zoya’s Lucky By Chance (2009).
