"She (Ekta) has all the plans to be a director. Hopefully, after my film she will soon be directing her next film," Karan told IANS.

Ekta has earlier worked as an assistant director in Yash Raj Films' Veer-Zaara and Salaam Namaste, and is currently busy working on the script of his next directorial.

Refusing to share much details about his movie, Karan said: "All I can say is this will not be a remake. It's an original film."

Karan met Ekta for the first time during Jaan-E-Mann, and later they worked together as assistant directors on Jodhaa Akbar and My Name Is Khan. They tied the knot in 2009.

He says Ekta contributed a lot to Agneepath, "but she didn't get the credit for that."

"Then she decided to write my next film for which both of us connected very well. It's a script close to my heart. It's a kind of thought of married life and the evolution we have gone through spiritually and psychologically."

"I will try my best to justify her vision. We both trust each other and we work as a team. I'm quite sure and excited about this project," he added.
