Actor Akshay Kumar created quite a flutter among millions of his fans when he tweeted today morning that he was venturing into something he had never attempted before. His tweet read, “Getting into an unknown and uncharted territory today. Doing something I have never done before. Excited and nervous both. Stay tuned for updates.”

Hindustan Times has now learned from sources that the actor is referring to a soon-to-be-aired interview he has done with none other than Prime Minister Narendra Modi. It is tipped to be the first ever full-length interview that the Prime Minister has given to a non-journalist. “Akshay has known PM Modi for years now and was happy to be invited to do an on-camera conversation with him. Despite this being at the time of a heated political climate, this conversation had nothing to do with politics,” adds the source, wishing to stay anonymous.

Akshay Kumar’s tweet had led to a flurry of speculation hinting at the likelihood of the actor joining politics and possibly contesting elections on a BJP ticket. Kumar, however, clarified in another tweet that such was not the case. ““Grateful for all the interest shown in my previous tweet but just clarifying in light of some wild speculation, I am not contesting elections,” he posted.

Our attempt to get a confirmation from the actor did not meet with a response. If it turns out to be true, however, it will be interesting to witness the Khiladi of Bollywood chatting with the Khiladi of politics!
