Anna teaser: Govind Namdeo, Tanishaa in biopic on the anti-corruption crusader
Marathi actor-turned-director Shashank Udapurkar has come up with a biopic on anti-corruption activist Anna Hazaree. Shashank, who has written, directed and also acted in the movie, released the teaser of the film titled Anna on Friday.

The biopic stars Tanishaa Mukherji, Govind Namdeo, Sharat Saxena, Kishor Kadam and Rajit Kapoor, apart from Shashank. Tannisha plays a journalist while Shashank plays the titular role.

Shashank completed the scripting in two years and sought Anna’s permission for the biopic in 2014. “It took me long to complete the script on Anna. I had drafted seven scripts before finalising it, since it is a mammoth task to present 75 years of his life in a two and half hour film,” he had said. Earlier, Shashank directed a biopic on Shivaji Maharaj’s son Sambhaji Raje.
The film has been shot in Ralegan Siddhi, Mumbai, Delhi, Kashmir, Ladakh, Rajasthan and various other places.
Anna, which has music composed by late Ravindra Jain, is slated to hit theatres on October 14.
