Katrina Kaif, Vidya Balan, Rani Mukerji and Priyanka Chopra have all done it, and now it’s the southern siren Asin’s turn to take the audiences by storm with her Marathi mulgi avatar.

The actor, who will be seen in Khiladi 786 opposite Akshay Kumar, plays a Maharashtrian in the film and has apparently gone out of her way to perfect the look for her character. She was so excited about playing a boisterous Maharashtrian girl that she decided to personally select a few saris for the role. She says, “Navvari saris are so beautiful and I had a great time selecting the prettiest ones. I also wanted to meet the sellers to pick up the finer nuances of the language and the traditional way of draping the sari.”

Sources from the sets say everyone is impressed by Asin’s keen interest in learning the Marathi dialect. She was seen interacting with the Marathi-speaking crew on the sets quite often. A source associated with the film says, “When Asin arrived on the sets wearing a navvari for a sequence, all of us were awestruck. She looked beautiful and elegant. Her new look will be a total treat for her fans.”
