After playing a second fiddle in many films, actor Riteish Deshmukh is ready to prove his mettle as the solo lead in the upcoming Hindi film Banjo. Though he began his career as the single lead in Tujhe Meri Kasam in 2003, he mostly managed to sign multi-starrers thereafter.

However, the scenario may change with director Ravi Jadhav’s Banjo, which will present Deshmukh as a musical sensation and a street fighter. The 88-second teaser released on Monday opens with Abhishek Bachchan’s voiceover that declares Riteish’s prowess with the strings and local fights. We then witness Riteish coming out of a gutter.
