Veteran actor Jaya Bachchan couldn’t hold back her tears after watching the special screening of filmmaker Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra’s Bhaag Milkha Bhaag (BMB), which tells the strife and struggle of Indian sprinter Milkha Singh’s life.

“Jayaji seldom attends movie screenings these days. But she made it a point to be there for Bhaag Milkha Bhaag because of the family’s close relations with the film’s director Rakeysh Mehra and Farhan (Akhtar),” says a source.

“After the screening, she just couldn’t control her emotions. She called Farhan aside and wept openly, telling him he had lived the pain, suffering and triumph of Milkha,” adds the source.

Farhan refused to comment on Jaya’s emotional response to the film.
