Bharat first look reveals Salman Khan plays a motorcycle stuntman in the film.

Director Ali Abbas Zafar has shared the first look of Bharat, his new film with star Salman Khan. Zafar shared the image on Twitter on Wednesday. “Ring of fire & Bharat,” he captioned the picture, and teased the film’s release date, Eid 2019. Eid has been Salman’s preferred release window, with some of his biggest box office successes arriving during the religious period.

In the picture, we can see Salman Khan’s motorcycle stuntman character entering the circus arena through a ‘ring of fire.’ Salman’s co-star, Disha Patani, will play a trapeze artiste in the film, which reportedly span 60 years and will have Salman don five different looks. Bharat is an official remake of the 2014 Korean blockbuster Ode to My Father and will be mounted on a large canvas.

Zafar previously gave Mumbai Mirror details about the film. “The idea is to create an Indian-Russian circus like Raj Kapoor’s Mera Naam Joker. Performers from all over the world are flying down for the circus tricks which will be a mix of trapeze hoops and rope stunts. This is Salman and Disha’s introduction. He plays a daredevil stunt motorcyclist in the circus while she is a trapeze artiste,” he said.

Bharat will also mark the Bollywood comeback of Priyanka Chopra, who returns to Hindi cinema after a gap of three years. “I feel she is an extremely talented actor and she has proved that over a period of time with a lot of films. [Also] What’s really important is that the character of the girl in the film is very strong and we wanted to cast a very strong actor, who can do justice to that role,” Ali told Hindustan Times.

Salman’s previous film, Race 3, underperformed both critically and commercially. His last two films with Zafar, however, have been extremely successful. Both Sultan and Tiger Zinda Hai made more than Rs 550 crore worldwide.

Earlier on Wednesday, we saw a behind-the-scenes look from the sets of the film, shared by fashion designer Ashley Rebello. In the picture, the designer was seen posing with an actor who looks a lot like Game of Thrones star Peter Dinklage. Rebello had earlier shared one of Salman’s looks from the film that started shooting last Sunday. Priyanka is expected to join the shoot in August.
